I am...a New Yorker

Back in the Big Easy

Crawfish po' boy, beignets, shrimp remoulade, jambalaya, gumbo, red beans and rice and, finally a Lucky Dog!

"Crawfish" from Kid Creole, which reminds me of my time in Memphis as well.

Guys flashing, but no girls yet. That ain't right.

There aren't enough meals in the day to sample it all.

The French Quarter tomorrow, I swear! I needed to revisit some old haunts, but I also wanted to see some new ones this time around.

Found the chicken foot necklace Nerd Boy wanted and for only 5 bucks. You could've knocked me over with a feather. (Pardon the unintentionally fowl pun).

I am...sure this will be no year for April Fool's jokes. At the airport on Saturday, there was a warning about forbidden topics of conversation -- guns, explosives, etc. Well DUH!

As indicated by the title, I am back in New Orleans. If I owe you money, I hope you can forgive me and wait another month. I was so stunted and exhausted I could not write or design. It looks like a little R&R was just what I needed. I've tried and tried to write about my trip in 2000 and could not. I wanted to finish the travel photo section and nearly 2 years later, I could not. I needed a little inspiration and the magic of a great place.

It seems to have done the job, I feel more energized, awake and creative than I have in about 7 months. Now if I can hold onto this feeling.
